Hi all,
I've been sitting on the sidelines for a couple of months now. In the
meantime I have managed to acquire several Heathkit rigs (mostly off Ebay- see
glossary below) and am ready to get them working.
1st - the HW-32A:
After an alignment according to the manual, the rig seems to be working quite
well. I have a question about the carrier null adjustment however. The manual
says to turn down the bottom slug of T1 2 turns and then peak the output with
the top slug.
This is ok assuming the bottom slug is still set according to the factory,
but what if it isn't? How can you determine what the proper intitial setting of
both slugs in T1 should be before aligning the carrier null? I am having a
tough time getting a discernable dip with the bottom slug.
I am not a technician so this is all new territory for me.
Thanks for the help.
