What receiver goes with VHF-1 "Seneca"

Heathkit sold the XC-2 2 meter and the XC-6 6 meter
converters with the Mohawk so that it could be used
with the Seneca. An original Heath VHF station would
have been the Seneca VHF-1, the Mohawk RX-1, the XC-2,
the XC-6, and the AK-5 speaker. For HF operation it
would have been the Apache TX-1, Mohawk RX-1, SB-10
SSB adapter, Warrior HA-10 linear, and the AK-5
speaker.

If you want to see a photo of the entire Heath station
from this era (including VHF) go to
http://home.attbi.com/~k9sth and the link that is the
4th from the bottom entitled "Latest Photos of the
K9STH Shacks". I have this set up as my AM shack
along with a Heath DX-100 and Hallicrafters S-85. The
Warrior is in my main shack and is pictured as well.

Of course, most amateurs used converters into either
HF amateur band only or general coverage receivers of
all sorts of makes. Probably the most common
converters were the Ameco CB-6 6 meter and CB-2 2
meter or the later nuvistor converters the CN-6 6
meter or CN-2 2 meter. Those were inexpensive and did
a very good job. Tapetone, Centurion, and a lot of
other companies made converters during the late 1950s
and well into the 1960s.

Being somewhat a "converter junkie", I have numerous
converters from this period hooked up with several
"boat anchor" receivers. Well over half of the
converters that I own are Ameco. However, I do have a
fair number of others including home brew, WRL,
International Crystal, Centurion, etc., as well as the
Heath XC-2 and XC-6 for the Mohawk and the companion
converters that were made for the SB-300 / SB-301 (and
switched directly from the front panel of the SB-301).

1) Was there a companion receiver for the VHF-1
"Seneca" (I could not find one listed in Penson)
