Caveat emptor!

I bet collectively we could come up with enough "gotchas" in our good buys at swapmeets to write a book. A while back, bought an absolutely gorgeous DX-60 . Not a scratch or dent, just like newly built. Panel, knobs. cabinet, you name it! Price was really good so I brought it home. A year later I took it down from the shelf, hooked it up through the variac and brought the voltage up. Hooked up the dummy load and flicked all the proper switches. Not a flicker on the meter. Pulled the bottom and there was high voltage and filaments lit up. Finally, I took the top off the final cage and......................no final coil!!! Someone got tired of wiring I guess. I just finished installing one, so here goes. (To be continued.) Fred W7PRV

P.S. The seller affirmed that it worked great!
