610, 620 scope and PMSA query for the group

After latching onto the Almost All Digital Electronics website from
curiousity resulting from missing out on the DFD someone was selling here
(and buying my own DFD and LC meter kits!), I stumbled onto the "Poor Man's
Spectrum Analyzer" website and got juiced up about one of those as well!  I
remember running into this sometime in the past, (and wanted one then too!)
Well, now I just might go ahead and do it.

Enough background, here is the question:

Can the SB-610 or 620 (preferably 610 since I have one) be used as a vertical
horizontal display (otherwise provided by an oscilloscope) for the PMSA?  I
would think so.  I think the PMSA only uses the horizontal and vertical
deflection on the scope and not the time base, trigger, etc...  Thoughts?
