Of course!
Both are basically 50 ohm impedance. RG8/X has a
lower attenuation than RG58/U but is the size of
RG59/U (75 ohm coax). Otherwise, you can always use
RG8/X in place of RG58/U but you cannot always use
RG58/U in place of RG8/X
