This kit is going on ebay next week, but I thought I'd give
list members a first chance at it, plus maybe save the ebay
fees... Ebay starting price will be $49.99, with BIN (Buy
It Now) price of $75. Please make offers.

I have pictures, just ask.

You are bidding on a Heathkit ID-22 Electronic Switch unassembled
partial kit.
This is an unusual item, so please read the following carefully... I
will try my
best to provide an accurate, complete description of this item.

Electronic switches, such as the ID-22, add dual trace capability to
single input
oscilloscopes (for example, the Heathkit laboratory oscilloscopes
model IO-12,
IO-18 and many others). The ID-22 has level controls for the two
inputs,
position control and a switch to select the switching rate. There
are binding posts
for the two inputs, as well as signal output and sync for the
oscilloscope.

The original owner of this kit started to assemble it and got as far
as mounting
all electrical components on the front panel/chassis and putting in
some of the
filament wiring. Nothing was soldered except for a few tube socket
pins. No
further work was done and the unit was then stored for quite a few
years. By
the time I received it, it had accumulated dirt, dust and pollution.
All other
components were lost.

I took the unassembled kit apart and restored each and every part,
as close
as possible, to like-new condition. Everything underwent thorough
cleaning.
The front panel was brought to a nice shine; the case was repainted
(same
color, same texture); switch contacts were carefully cleaned;
potentiometers
were sprayed with electronic cleaner/lubricant; even the hardware,
down to
the tiniest nut, was brushed to like-new shine.

The high bidder gets what is shown in the picture. (If it's not in
the picture,
you don't get it.) Since the picture is not that clear, here's a
rundown. The
package includes the front panel, chassis, case and all electrical
parts that
mount to the front panel or chassis: power transformer, choke, all
potentiometers and switches (knobs included), electrolytic capacitor
can
(mounting plate included), pilot light (bulb included), terminal
strips and
binding posts (colored caps included). Also included is the hardware
(screws nuts, washers, etc.) required to mount these components.

I think that what is needed to build a working unit are 20
resistors, 14
capacitors, 7 tubes and one line cord -- all of which are easily
and cheaply
available. To finish off the unit, one also needs 4 plastic feet and
a handle.
There is no manual (a copy can be had for $10). I will include a
printout
of the schematic and a hand drawn sketch (not in the picture, but
will be
included) of where in the mechanical assembly components go.

Bottom line: this is an unusual opportunity to build a near mint
ID-22, with
new resistors and capacitors, that will not only look like a new
unit, but
will also operate like one. A collector's dream, that also greatly
enhances
the 'scope value in the lab.

I do not charge for packing, handling and the like. Buyer will pay
shipping
and insurance (mandatory) from ZIP 01702. I will gratefully accept
money
orders or bank checks. Absolutely no PayPal and, please, no personal
checks.

Thanks for reading and good luck.
