I too got burnt with the UPS brokerage charges, so a friend let me share the
use of their US PO Box just across the border which works out pretty good
especially when I cannot get there straight away.
For those senders who "Only Ship UPS", the UPS Depot in Niagara Falls NY
will notify you when a parcel arrives and hold it for pick-up for 7 days (5
bus. days). You just have to ask the sender to put your phone no. after your
name, address it to the depot's address and UPS will call you when it
arrives. I was told that 75% of their customers were Canadians.
I haven't had any problems crossing back over.
