I've been doing most of my repairs with only a RS dmm for quite awhile. Takes a little longer, but haven't encountered a lot of problems that require the
freq counter. So,that's why I asked what the minimum would be..... I have a 1 meg to 2 gig counter,An HP 606,a 20 meg dual trace, an Eico vtvm,2 grid dippers,an mfj 259b,logic and pulser probes,HV probe,Beckman HV supply. Most from flea markets. If the rig has a meter that's functional,I use that. Some prayer and associated smoke tests are included. But most important,is to have an Elmer or two or three, such as the List folks who are kind enough to help and or direct one along the proper circuit. Thanks to all. Al,your manual and schematic are on the way.
