Great story Lee. The shoreside techs that worked on the various SSB, CW hf
gear and
radars onboard merchant ships would usually come aboard with just a
Simpson Model 260 VOM and could usually find the problem without any other
test equipment. I do have a Simpson 270, Tektronix 2213A scope, UQM25 sig
generator and a B & K 707 tube tester but all my xmtrs are tube gear. .
