CORRECTION: Should read 'SB-401' (Was SB-303: White socket on back...)

Hi all,

This is a correction to my last note: The item with the socket on it is an SB-401 transmitter, not the SB-303 receiver. I apologize for the mix up. But the questions still is stands.

*** Corrected version of query ***:

I realize these are very basic questions, but here we go ...

On the SB-401, at the back, there is a white nylon square plug/socket pair about 3/4 inch long by 1/2 inch tall, with one jumper on the male part that plugs in to the female on the panel. I think the male has 6 prongs if I recall.

1-. What is that for exactly?
2- What is the significance of one jumper position versus the others that you could make?
3- Can the rig be operated without that plug --- for example if the plug got lost in shipping?

(I should add it had been working with an SB-303 receiver all cabled to it before).

Can someone tell me?

Thanks,
--- Rob
