John & Heath list -

As you know, the SB-101 uses the HP-23 power supply. The plug / socket combination you are referring about is the Amphenol / WirePro "86" series.
The cable is 8 conductor *as shown in Heath page link below), many people use 8-conductor rotor cable -- with the 2 heavier conductors being used for the filament voltages.

11 pin Socket is part number: 86-S-11
Metal shield covers for cable usage (as shown in photo above) is part number: 86-3-13

Some Collins collectors provide this part and repair or build pre-made cable assembly (if required).

BACKGROUND & EVERYTHING YOU EVER WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT AMPHENOL / WIREPRO CONNECTORS USED BY COLLINS, HEATH and HAMMOND ORGANS !

The "86" series of connectors were originally made by Amphenol.
In the 1980s, Wire Pro ( WPI ) acquired several of the commercial product lines from Amphenol.

The 78 and 86 Series of Commercial Plugs and Accessories as well as the 80 and 91 Series Microphone Connectors were two of these product lines acquired at that time.

WirePro - Salem, NJ manufacturing facility is where they STILL MAKE THESE CONNECTORS TODAY !

The Amphenol / WPI connectors are available through the normal electrical distributor channels:
Allied, Newark, Arrow and ECCO (Chicago).
Newark Electronics has been a very good supplier for a number of restorers.
ECCO is also a very good source for these connectors.

CHICAGO, IL 60638

The Amphenol (Wire Pro) 86 series connectors are made in the following sizes:

These are the "PLUGS" (CP) with Amphenol part number

 4 pin - 86CP4
 5 pin - 86CP5
6 pin - 86CP6 [Used on Leslie speakers for Hammond Organs]
8 pin - 86CP8 [Widespread use - and referred to as an "Octal" due to its "8 pins"]
11 pin - 86CP11 [Collins for 516F2 - as a special panel mount version; Heath cable: SB gear to HP-23]

These are the "SOCKETS" (S) with Amphenol part number

 4 pin - 86S4
 5 pin - 86S5
6 pin - 86S6 [Used on Leslie speakers for Hammond Organs]
8 pin - 86S8 [Widespread use - and referred to as an "Octal" due to its "8 pins"]
11 pin - 86S11 [Power connector on Collins 516F2 AC Power Supplies and Heath HP-23 Power Supply]

Metal shield covers for cable usage .. 86-3-13

These connectors are available from the normal electronic distributors:
Allied Radio, Newark, Arrow Electronics, etc.

Triode Electronics also has these connectors in stock:
http://shop.store.yahoo.com/triodeel/amphenol.html

Please place this information on the Heath FAQ (The Hammond organ and Collins restorers already have this information).
The urban legends of "rare", "no longer made" .. is tiresome .. and just propagates the parts availability problem in marketplace (suppliers no longer stock -- since no one buys).
