pl tone

Communications Specialists makes all sorts of
inexpensive encoder and encoder/decoder units for
CTCSS ("PL" is a Motorola trademark for the CTCSS
system).  If you need more than one tone then I
suggest adding the TE-32 which has a total of 32 tones
that are selected from a rotary switch.

I put a TE-32 on my old Kenwood TR-7850 2-meter FM
unit and it works fine.
