DX-60 function switch

Hi John,

If the only problem with the switch is that the contacts are damaged,
but the rotating part of the switch is okay, then many times the only
practical way to fix it is to replace the contact. I have done this
several times, and it works very well.

Remove all wires to the bad contact, and carefully drill out the rivet
that holds it in place. Find another contact the same size on that
switch, or any other switch you might have, as long as the contact is
the same size. The easiest way I have found to install it is to use a
very small screw and nut. Check out a hobby shop or craft store for
something of the right size to fit. A 0-56 or 1-56 usually will do the
job just fine. Use brass if you can find it, but steel will also work
okay.

Hope this helps.

Subject: DX-60 function switch

Hello:
Just wondering if anybody knows where l can get a function
switch for my dx-60 ? used or new?
lt makes good connection on the cw position, but, not on tune
or AM, wonder if burnishing would help?
A friend suggested that l drill out the bad contacts and
install good ones from the switch.
This seems like a very delicate operation, have you ever
heard of someone doing that procedure?

                          Thanking you in advance,

                                John Ventura VE3FV
