Heath SB 104A problems

Hi Vin,
As far as the finals are concerned, I've used the MRF 450A sold by RF Parts
in many units through the years with no problems at all.
Another difference between the 104 series radios is that the SB-104 has a
100 HZ button that allowed you to blank the last digit of the display. In
the SB-104A this button is replaced with a 400 HZ that allows you to operate
the 400 HZ CW filter.
Check out my good friend Kees Talen's web site
http://www.qsl.net/k5bcq/sb104/sb104.html. He has an absolutely top notch
site dealing with the Heathkit SB-104 series radios.
Hope this helps,
Cheers!

How would one determine if a 104A is really a 104A and not a 104? I suspect
that the one I have has had its front panel changed. Also, what's a good
replacement for the PA transistors? Regards from a vy windy and cold Maine.
Vin
