HG-10B RG-62 Cable & Spring Tension...

I just acquired an HG-10B VFO and need to make the cable to mate it to a
DX-60B. I noticed the original kit called for RG-62 ... which I believe is
75 Ohm coax. Is that critical? Could I use another version of coax? Does
it have to be 75 Ohm?
Second question, there is a little spring clip that keeps tension on one of
the gears ... it is just a bit short right now and slips off the gear ....
are replacements available somewhere or is there a way to make a replacement
or some other solution?
Thanks in advance!
Peace
Stephen
