Any selenium used for power may be replaced with silicon, adding a
power resistor in series if necessary to reduce the voltage.

Does anybody have an extra 57-27 rectifier for the IT-17 tube tester
or is there a replacement for it??  It looks like an old selenium
type and I am not sure I can replace it with a modern silicon
diode(s)??  Can anybody give me  some info on this.  Any help
appreciated   THanks  Ted N8GPQ
