SB 401

I am having a problem with a SB 401.  The problem is that the relay (AA in
Pictorial 4-6,) will not engage when the mode switch is turn to the tune
position,  How ever if you take a plastic probe and push the relay a little
it will engage and then you can tune for power out. Take it out of tune
position the relay may engage and most likely will not in gage when you go
to the tune position again.

But if you connect the mike and push the push to talk switch on the mike
the relay will engage, but you can not tune it up using the mike,

I hope I have made my self clear enough ,, any suggestion,  or has the
relay simply gone bad, or could the problem in the mode switch/.

When tuned power out is 60 watts.
