That is why I suggested running the relay on DC.
Switching DC shouldn't be any more of a "hum"
generator than switching the relay through a tube.
However, there are some of the older equipment that
actually use AC for the PTT relay! Those units don't
seem to have any more "hum" than usual! But, I
certainly would think twice before doing this!
