Lube?

My experience has been that if it is a variable resistor that turns hard
or is nearly frozen, the potentiometer has to be disassembled and the
hardened lubricant removed from the shaft with a good solvent.
I then relubricate the shaft at the bushing with lubriplate and reassemble
it.  Do not get lubricant on the element!!!
