T/R relay for DX100?

If you are using a Dow Key (or equivalent relay) with
SO-239 UHF type connectors:

Use a double male UHF connector to connect the
normally open side of the relay directly to the r.f.
connector on the DX-100. Connect a short jumper made
from RG58/U or RG8/X type coax between the normally
closed connector on the relay. Connect the antenna to
the "wiper" or "common" connection on the relay.

The 120 VAC coil needs to be connected to an octal
plug that goes to the accessory jack on the back of
the DX-100 so that the relay is energized whenever the
plate switch is activated on the DX-100.

If you are using a low-pass filter (which I strongly
recommend) it should be connected between the antenna
and the input to the relay. Again, using a double
male UHF connector is a "handy" way of doing this.

If your relay has a different voltage on the coil then
you will have to make some sort of power supply that
is turned off and on by the plate switch on the
DX-100. Now, the DX-100 does call this the "plate"
switch and not the "transmit" switch.

Hopefully, the relay that you are using will have
"auxillary" contacts that will allow you to "mute" the
receiver. If so, then connect the contacts to the
appropriate terminals on the receiver.
