"Cantenna" With Motor Oil?

For some bizzare reason, mineral oil is very hard to come by in my county.  Some ham says he actually uses motor oil for his homebrew "Cantenna"...:

...and I was wondering if anyone had ever tried this with the Heathkit Cantenna.
