CANTENNA

To my friend Gene,

I was wondering how long this thread was going to run before someone finally
blew! HAHA!

For 29 years I've been using two Cantenna dummy loads and a Dentron "Big
Dummy" unit in my shack.
One Cantenna has had Pennzoil 10W40, the other Cantenna has had Texaco 30
weight non detergent in it, and the Dentron has had transformer oil,
obtained from the power company. I've had the current legal limit running
through all three on a regular basis over the past three decades. There
doesn't seem to be any difference in the performance of the three. All three
handle 1500 watts output for their rated amount of time. All three get warm,
but not overly hot, when pumping the power into them ---- and yes, all three
would probably blow up and catch fire if I was a total idiot and disregarded
the posted instructions on the side of the can.
Of course your mileage may vary.
Cheers!
