Hi Glen,
There is no other way than to get into the ballpark with the coarse,
then tweak it in with the fine.  Be patient.  The plate relay relay in
mine failed so I replaced it with a P&B 5000 ohm SPDT relay.  Used two
12v relays to provide all the contacts.  Got the 12v from a doubler on
the 6vac.  Replaced the buzzer with a nice chime.
Works great and very accurate.  Can send mods if interested. Also had to
rebuild the clock motor. Luck.
