DX-40 & VF-1

Hello everyone. Have a DX-40 and just acquired a VF-1. I do not have the  
manuals for either at this time. Can someone please tell me if the VF-1 will  
plug right into the DX-40 (and work) without mods or if mods are needed, what  
are they? Thank you
