Mineral Oil

I agree wholeheartedly!!

Mineral oil is another bad choice. Boiling point is to low to be safely
used in a confined space.

I contacted several transformer repair facilities in the yellow pages and
found at least two that were willing to give me a gallon of their best oil
from bulk!

Works great and safer too!!

You definitely do NOT want to use any kind of cooking
oil for cooling purposes. It WILL go rancid after a
while and that is something that one definitely does
not want to deal with.
