SB-220

I recently acquired a SB-220. when looking at the antenna change over
relay, I noticed someone had changed the RG-8 coax from the relay to the
amp output connector with RG-8X and had it soldered to the movable tab
of the antenna change over relay.
I don't think the RG-8X is rated for the output of the amplifier even
for a short run of only a foot. The other is I'm not sure how it affects
the operation of the antenna relay being connected to the movable
contact of the relay.
I would like to replace the RG-8X with RG-8 type of coax. but I want to
connect it to the appropriate fixed terminal of the relay that is
connected to the movable as is shown in the manual.
My question is what can I used between the relay terminals and the
movable relay terminal. The manual called for using a braid in length of
spaghetti. I don't have any of this anymore. Is there something else I
could use that will be suitable for the voltage and the output power and
still be flexible enough not to restrict the movement of the relay
wipers?
