Jerry,

Be very careful with the plate current meter when HV is applied, it can kill
you. I had a bad encounter with mine back in the sixties, while turning off
the HV I accidentally touched the zero set. Somehow the zero set became
carbonized and had 3000 volts sitting on it, I lit up like a light bulb. I'm
lucky to be alive. Not too long ago I heard about another ham who
experienced the same problem. BE CAREFUL!!
