SB-1400 MODE

Does anyone know if this works, is it real ? if so does anyone have a copy of the origanal heathkit modification. thank you

 
Heathkit SB-1400 modification
Remove top cover.

On backside of display unit there is a brown jumper wire near the large ribbon cable.

Cut this jumper.

Turn radio on and set display for 12.345.6 then turn radio off then on.

This enables the general coverage mode and a GEN display will come on and stay on at the top of the LCD display.

Reassemble the unit. It will now transmit everywhere it receives, however Heathkit recommends that it only transmit from 1.8 - 30 MHz.
