HP-23 fuse.

The original HP-23 does NOT have a chassis mounted
fuse holder unless someone has added it. The original
HP-23 used the "suicide" plug that has the fuses
located on each side of a 2-wire plug (same thing was
used on the DX-100, Apache, etc.).

The first model HP-23 uses a chassis mounted fuse
holder: the fuse is a 3 amp slow blow. Works just
fine. I have one HP-23B in which the breaker has been
replaced by a chassis mounted fuse holder. The fuse in
it is a 3 amp slow blow.
