Well, Don, I just went off and bought one of those crystal radio kits on 
eBay.  Seems like an awful lot for not a lot of money so I indulged. 
 Will let everyone know how it turns out. Don't have a CR-1 to compare 
it with but we'll see.  Should be fun!
