Dial problem on SB-401

Hi,

I just noticed an odd problem on an SB-401 I acquired.  It's perfect except the dial mechanism only allows the vertical ruler bar to go from 0 to 4 -- and then stops.  I assume that that IS a problem.  They aren't all like that are they?  It should go all the way to 5 (i.e. indicating 500 kHz stretch covered by the Tx) I should think.

Do I have to take apart that whole front panel, remove all the knobs and the pots etc, just to to get to this thing (spiral mech etc.)
