The knobs moved.
Seriously. If you look at pictures of the SB-300 and SB-301, the top
row of knobs on the 301 are higher. This change is also mirrored in the
SB-400 and 401.
The SB-300 and 301 are similar, but some of the parts are different --
notably the size of the filters. And I'm not sure the 300 had a switch
for selecting VHF converters or not.
The SB-301 is basically a model improvement over the 300.
