HW - 8, AM receiver

Hi,

About a week & half ago I posted that my HW-8 had no output.  Got it going this weekend after replacing 4 transistors, 1 IC, a RF choke and a 36v zener diode. Did an alignment with output at 1 to 1.5w on all bands.  It has the original type final transistor installed.

The HW-8 receives good, except it is receiving the local AM radio station on 40 meters making it nearly impossible to copy cw.  Any ideas on how to correct this?  It is limited to the HW-8 as my other rig receives fine on 40 meters.
