The new capacitors are probably closer to the desired
capacitance than the originals since they are probably
+/- 20% tolerance whereas the originals were -50% /
+80%.
I would definitely check the value of the series
resistor that is used to calibrate the voltage reading
on the meter. These go bad all of the time. You can
get a new one from Mouser ( http://www.mouser.com )
for very little cost.
