solid state rectifier tube replacements

Tom - Good afternoon. Getting 'everyone's thoughts' is probably going to be very different.

I have a DX-100B. It still has all the tube rectifiers in it, no solid state replacements...just
don't feel the need to do so. I did replace all the hi/lo/bias caps in the power supply. I also
have some spare tubes so finding them is not a very high priority. It's certainly your choise. I
believe though, if I've heard the overall ham community correctly, when using ss replacements
there may be a need to put in additional voltage dropping resistors. Your mileage may vary....I
just don't see the need to put in 'Solid State Equivalents'. I would however, put the correct
rectifier tube in the proper place...that is, 5R4's instead of 5U4.

Good luck. 73, Larry KC8JX
