Yes. That would be very difficult to do for that rig. You would have to 
add driver grid and plate coils, replace the bandswitch to add more 
switch positions, and add heterodyne oscillator crystals.

You could change some of the bands that are already there to WARC 
bands more easily. 

I think the easiest way to deal with the WARC bands with the HW-101 
would be a transverter. In fact, a bandswitching transverter would not 
be all that difficult to build.

Yes. It is a very nice rig. I just finished restoring one here and am now 
using it.
