VF-1 dial slipping

[WØQFC]

I have been futzing with this #$&&/?> thing for a hour now and can not stop 
the dial from slipping.
I have taken apart the entire dial assembly, checked it, cleaned it and 
pondered over it with no luck.
Any ideas????
