Heathkit Metal Locator help needed

This is the last site I could think of to try and locate someone that might be able to help me get my Heathkit Metal Locator GD-1190 working once again.
  I built the kit back in 1978, and have had loads of fun with it but now its sort of dead.
  If anyone has had experience with this model or has one, please contact me at my email address. I have been begging for help with this now for a long time.
