Good Day Everyone,

I have been collecting parts to restore several OLD Heathkit DX-100 transmitters. However I run into a problem, in two of the transmitters there is the Heathkit "special capacitor" missing. The capacitor's heathkit part number is 20-45, there are three capacitors in one, 400-600 and 800 mf built together. Heathkit call it the "course loading" capacitor, a small red knob which is part of that control varies the final loading (capacitor 250 mmf) which is connected to the antenna output connector. Some of the rigs I have this and some don't.

I was told Heathkit sent out a modification stating that the "special capacitor" should be removed.

Can anyone please varify this?
