SB-610 Monitor Scope - Tone Out

Have a new Tektronix model 2235 Scope which i'm attempting
to check the TONE OUT function on my Heathkit SB-610.
The scope is suposed to output 1500 & 1590 tones.
Question before i hook it up.
Can i run a direct cable from the TONE RCA Jack on the scope to the input 
Channel of the Tektronix without going thru a Probe ?
Does the SB-610 probably have too much voltage to run directly ?
What are you all doing ?
I've run my HP 8640 Signal Generator thru a Probe & that works fine but not directly into the Tekronix 
Suggestions please ?
