Heathket HAM Gear

Youe best bet is locally, in your ham clubs, where many hams have rigs like the Heathkit SB-101 and HW-101 stashed on their shelves. Not seeing the value in it, they often are happy for you to haul it off! I have acquired many of those in that manner. Next, watch for Hamfests or Ham Flea Markets in your area. Here in So Cal, there are great swapmeets almost every weekend, and the Heathkits are plentiful and cheap. I got a HW-101 for $20 awhile back. Finally, if money is not an issue, there is Ebay, where a $20 radio goes for $200 or more! But it IS possible to weed out some good deals if you are shrewd and crafty. Persistance and Punctuality pay off, and most of the Heathkits I needed for the Crest Radio Museum have been acquired. Sometimes you have to get 2 or 3 rigs to make one good radio. Good luck, and hope you happen into a nice Heathkit shortly!
