Ummm, how about using..."tantalum"!

Solid (dry) tantalum caps ought to be fine. Older equipment did not use them
though.

If you're working on older stuff, the only caps that ought to need a look
are wet aluminum electrolytics that have probably dried up, and tubular
paper. Replace paper with ceramic disk, mica or poly (styrene, propylene,
carbonate, etc.). Ceramic disk can pretty much be used anywhere. Mica is
generally used at RF and is only available in less than a nanofarad values.
Today, use dipped silver mica, not those old rectangular red things with the
colored dots on them. Poly's are more complicated; depends on the
application.
