Heathkit diodes 57-27

I was not aware, until reminded by one of the list members, that the 
information I received from you people did NOT go to the rest of the list 
members.

The concensus is that the diode in question is a 600 PIV 1 AMP silicon 
diode, which is available under any of a number of designations.

The original was a TungSol 1N2071, and alternates are 1N4005, 
1N5397, 600 PIV 1A Rectifier.

One fellow said it was a TungSol 1N2079, but I think that still falls into 
the above category for alternates.
