1410 keyer ?

A quick question about the 1410 keyer, that Heath did such a good job with, but for one tiny problem. Since the TS-440 wasn't made then, the keyer doesn't want to key it. Seems to me that there was a mod for the keyer to sink the keyed line more effectively. 
Does anyone have that mod info? Please, contact of line to send. Thank you.
