GC-1000 clock question

Hi all.  Just recently got a neat GC-1000 most-accurate clock.
Have rebuilt the power supply with the little switching regulator,
as suggested by several.  Clock is working fine with an external antenna.

But, WWV reception seems weak to me, on all three freqs, even with
the external antenna, and not at all with the extendable one.

Does anyone have info on the factory-assembled receiver board, any test
and alignment procedures?
