VHF AM - Is there a "National AM Simplex Frequency on 2 Meters?

Certainly we want an AM National Calling Frequency, Doc.
In fact we HAVE One too - that has been established for 
quite a few years now. 144.45 MHz - and no need to be mobile 
to use it!

A VHF AM calling frequency is how VHF ops find each other 
on AM and make new friends with common interests!

Back in the 1970s you could make all kinds of new contacts on 
146.52 FM simplex.

In these days of renewed interest in the old tube rigs, a lot 
of guys are on 144.450 MHz AM - you would be surprised. 
There are even groups with nets in some areas of the USA.

So yes, it is vitally important to know where to monitor or look for
one another.
