IT-11 vs IT28 Capacitor Checkers....

I have the IT28 and, in fact, am using it right now. It works great for
checking capacitance AND leakage. Just have to be careful as you can be
shocked with it. I paid $25 for mine. It looks and works great. Has
green tuning eye.
As for the IT-11, it's an older version of the IT28 and is a good
meter....just old.
I also have three other checkers. One is the LC meter by Almost All
Digital Electronics. It only checks capacitance and inductance. (no
leakage test) But works great for that. The Velleman DVM6013 checks
only capacitance (no leakage) and is sophisticated. I find the IT-28
and Almost All Dig meters come pretty close to same on measurements.
Also have a Circuit Mate Capt 6 meter. It matches the others too and
only checks capacitance. (no leakage)
Bottom line.. the IT28 is a good unit to have... but $100 is way too
much for it, I think.
Hope this helps you decide. Bob W5UQ Tampa
