Help Needed

I need some help regarding how to connect my 500 mhz Techtronix
Oscilloscope to my 50 khz IF output Stage.
Now I do have a real nice Mini-Circuits Double Balanced Mixer on hand.
Problem is I have forgotten How it is done. Heathkit was famous for this.
I need some help in the BASIC setup.
Understood that this MODERN DAY small little Mini-Circuits DBM  will probably be perfect  to use .
It is just that I need some help explaining the basic footprint of the circuitry.
I.E. what do I set the Xtal Frequency at ?etc.
I think that I should be able to do this all just by using the Vertical Scope Input.
If anyone can give me a refresher PLEASE E-MAIL me ASAP.
