Heathkit ID-5001

Hello all,
I've built a new Heathkit ID-5001 from an original unopened kit and everything is working except my wind speed indication on the main display unit.? The wind sensor on the?boom looks OK but I do not know if there is a way to test the main unit and sensor separately.? The wind direction works fine along with everything else including date; time; rain; temperature; barometer?& humidity.? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
