311B:
Pentode tube having indirectly heated cathodes. Small cap for control
grid G1 and small 5-pin base.
Intended for use in carrier telephone systems in regulated battery
offices. Can also be used as audio, carrier, or radio-frequency power
amplifiers where power outputs of approximately 2 watts are required and
where the plate voltage is not in excess of 180 volts
Replaces No. 311A.

This info from the Western Electric Apparatus Card Catalog dated December
31, 1964.
